Sewer Backup Cleanup in Burbank & Los Angeles
Sewage on the floor is a health hazard, not a mopping job. We clear the line, extract, sanitize, and dry.
What is sewer backup cleanup?
A sewer backup is raw wastewater coming back up through the lowest opening in the house — usually a downstairs shower, a floor drain, or the tub. It happens when the main line blocks and everything the household drains has nowhere to go but backward.
Treat it as contaminated. Category three water carries bacteria and viruses, and it soaks into carpet pad, drywall, cabinet toe kicks, and subfloor within minutes. Wiping the surface and running a household fan leaves the contamination in the materials, which is where the smell and the health risk stay.
Two jobs have to happen in order. First the line gets opened, because cleaning up while the blockage is still there means you clean up twice. Then the affected materials get extracted, removed where they cannot be saved, sanitized with antimicrobial treatment, and dried with commercial equipment until moisture readings come back to normal.
Keep people and pets out of the area, do not run water, and do not flush anything, including a toilet on another floor, until the line is confirmed open. Call us and we will walk you through what to shut off while the truck is on the way.
How does it work?
- 1
Stop the flow and clear the main
We shut down drainage into the line and cable or jet the blockage so nothing more comes back into the house. Camera confirms the line is open.
- 2
Contain and extract
The area is contained to keep contamination from tracking through the house, then standing sewage is extracted with equipment rated for it.
- 3
Remove, sanitize, and treat
Porous materials that cannot be decontaminated — carpet pad, soaked drywall, damaged baseboard — are cut out and bagged. Surfaces are cleaned and treated with an antimicrobial.
- 4
Dry and document
Air movers and dehumidifiers run until moisture meters read dry. We log daily readings and photograph everything so your insurance claim has real documentation.
Reviews
What neighbors say about our sewer backup cleanup work
“Backup into the downstairs bath at 11pm. They cleared the line, extracted everything, and set drying equipment the same night.”
“They cut out the wet drywall and pad instead of trying to dry it in place. The adjuster said the documentation was the best he had seen.”
“No smell left at all when they finished. They came back twice to check moisture readings.”
