What is sewer lining?

Sewer lining, also called cured-in-place pipe, rebuilds a failing lateral from the inside. A resin-saturated liner is pulled or inverted into the existing pipe, inflated tight against the wall, and cured until it hardens into a continuous new pipe within the old host.

The result is a smooth, jointless conduit. Joints are where roots enter, so removing them removes the way most Los Angeles County sewer lines fail. Cracks are sealed, minor offsets are bridged, and the interior surface flows better than the rough clay or corroded cast iron it replaced.

The reason homeowners choose it is what does not happen. No open trench across the front yard, no jackhammered driveway, no ripped-out mature landscaping, and no week of your street torn up. Work is done through existing access points, usually in a day for a residential lateral.

Lining is not universal. A pipe that has fully collapsed, separated, or lost its shape has nothing to line against, and a heavy belly holding standing water stays a belly after lining. The camera inspection makes that call before you commit, and we will tell you when replacement is the honest answer.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Inspect and qualify the line

Camera footage confirms the host pipe still holds its shape and grade. We measure length and diameter and identify every connection that must be reinstated.

  2. 2

    Clean the host pipe

The line is jetted and, where cast iron scale or hardened roots are present, mechanically descaled. Resin only bonds to a clean wall, so this step decides how long the liner lasts.

  3. 3

    Install and cure the liner

The saturated liner is inverted or pulled into place and inflated against the pipe wall, then cured. Once hard, it is a structural pipe rated for decades of service.

  4. 4

    Reinstate and verify

Branch connections are reopened, and a final camera pass documents a continuous, smooth, root-free line end to end. You get the footage.

What neighbors say about our sewer lining work

Lined sixty feet under our brick driveway in one day. Not a single paver was lifted.

They showed me the before footage full of roots and the after footage of smooth pipe. Worth every dollar.

Told us one section had to be dug and the rest could be lined, instead of selling us the whole trench.
