What is trenchless pipe replacement?

Trenchless pipe replacement is the umbrella term for rebuilding an underground line without opening a trench along its full length. In practice it means one of two methods: cured-in-place lining, which forms a new pipe inside the old one, or pipe bursting, which pulls new pipe in while destroying the old.

The reason homeowners in Los Angeles County care is what sits on top of the pipe — driveways, stamped patios, mature trees, and hillside retaining work that costs more to rebuild than the plumbing itself.

Not every line qualifies. Severe bellies, sharp offsets, and laterals running under a foundation can force an open-cut section. We decide with a camera, not a sales script, and we show you the footage.

Done right, trenchless gets you a jointless line with no root entry points, rated for decades, finished in a day or two instead of a week of excavation.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Inspect and measure the line

Camera footage plus surface locating tells us pipe material, diameter, depth, and every bend, offset, and belly along the run.

  2. 2

Pick the method the pipe supports

A structurally intact host pipe gets lined. A collapsed or badly offset pipe gets burst and replaced. You get the recommendation with the reason attached.

  3. 3

    Prep access and install

Small access points are opened at each end. The liner is inverted and cured in place, or new HDPE is pulled through, depending on the method chosen.

  4. 4

    Verify and restore

Final camera pass and flow test, then backfill, compaction, and surface restoration at the access points. Permit and city inspection included.

What neighbors say about our trenchless pipe replacement work

Two big trees over the sewer line. They lined it instead of digging and the yard never got touched.

Straight answer that part of my line had to be open-cut. Appreciated the honesty instead of a fantasy quote.

Done in two days, inspection passed, and the camera video was emailed to me afterward.
